Meals in the Meantime is partnering with the Village of Robbins, Illinois for our next drive-thru, pop-up food pantry on Saturday, November 22, 2025, 10am, at the Robbins Community Center, 13800 S. Trumbull Avenue, Robbins, Illinois 60472. Fresh, healthy, high-quality grocery bags with Thanksgiving sides are available for all who need help with food (first come, first served, one bag per vehicle).

Meals in the Meantime is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing food support and assistance. Our mission is filling the food gap in Chicagoland south suburbs with nourishment and dignity. We help seniors, single women and men, families, young adults, and children.

We provide grocery bags of food at drive-thru, pop-up food pantries by partnering with local townships, community-based organizations, and faith-based organizations. We help people who need food directly in neighborhoods where they live. The core of our work is putting fresh, healthy, and high-quality food directly in the hands of people in need.

"For all that I've done. For all the professional and personal success I've had. For all the places in the world I've been. Helping people who need food with Meals in the Meantime is the most fulfilling life experience I've had. And being at our pop-up food pantries is one of the happiest places I'll be." - Kevin M. Yates, Founder, Meals in the Meantime

We are intentional about the food we give at our pop-up food pantries. Our grocery bags contain a variety of food items across five major food groups. Take a look at the amount of food we have given at our pantries:
That's 26 tons of free, fresh, healthy, and high-quality food! The food items we select are natural sources of vitamins and nutrients our bodies need for well-being. We fill the food gap with nourishment, dignity, and food that promotes healthy living.

We have no bias or stereotypes about people experiencing food scarcity. Food insecurity is a condition, not a condemnation. We are changing the condition with Meals in the Meantime.
